AURA Sailing Team’s Inspiring Launceston to Hobart Campaign

The AURA Sailing Team brought exceptional heart and resilience to this year’s Launceston to Hobart race. Under the leadership of skipper Órla Gray, the team showed true tenacity, navigating intense weather and long hours to achieve remarkable progress. Despite a challenging decision to retire at Triabunna due to a strong southerly front, AURA’s spirit remained unshaken.

Their journey was backed by an enthusiastic community of supporters, from seasoned sailors providing navigation advice to local businesses lending resources. It was a privilege to contribute, among so many others, to this campaign. The entire team—Jodie, Tess, Mck, Jess, Laura, Anna, and Órla—proved their dedication and skill, with every crew member showing what it means to be part of Tasmania’s sailing community.
